ACM users¶
The ACM users module declares the accounts on whose behalf an ACM request may be issued. An ACM user matches an operating-system account on the remote machines; it is then bound to agents, applications and aliases in an ACM contract, which alone authorises password retrieval.
ACM availability
The ACM screen and its five modules only appear in the console when ACM is allowed: both a licence covering ACM and the Allow ACM usage option ticked for the organisation, in the system console are required.
ACM user list¶
The grid has a single column, User, holding the declared identifier. The search field filters on that value; as long as no account is declared, the grid shows No users.
The toolbar carries the three standard actions, whose tooltips are Add, Properties (single selection) and Delete (multiple selection allowed). Double-clicking is equivalent to Properties.
Add an ACM user¶
Click +. The Add ACM user window opens.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Username | Mandatory, unique. Up to 256 characters. Enter DOMAIN\LOGIN for a domain account, or MACHINE\LOGIN for an account local to the machine. |
Click Validate.
User already declared
If the identifier already exists, the server refuses the addition with the message This user already exists.
Edit an ACM user¶
Select a row then click the Properties icon (or double-click). The Edit ACM user window shows the same field.
Delete an ACM user¶
Select one or several rows then click ×. A confirmation is requested.
User used by an ACM contract
An identifier that appears in an ACM contract cannot be deleted. Unused identifiers are deleted, and an error message lists the identifiers that were kept. To delete them, first remove them from those contracts.
A user may come from an import
Importing an ACM contract automatically creates the users it names that do not exist yet — see ACM contracts.
